Hey B L,
Welcome
I don't know your experience level with mechanics and CUB tractors
especially but I would like to share some advise that I was given and
from experience found very useful.
If you plan on keeping the tractor for your personal use I would suggest,
that you look for the nearest Case IH dealer and purchase two books.
The complete parts manual and the service manual [not the owners
manual], though it is very helpful and you may want to buy later. Most
tractor parts dept. will certainly appreciate you having the parts numbers
handy and many will let you call in, FAX, or even e-mail in your order. I
have also found that on small parts they will mail directly to your house.
The two books I mentioned are invaluable in your repairs and helping
you to see how the parts fit together and operate.
I personally think you have made a wise choice in the 1950. I have four
of them all will run though not likely to win a race. The first one I
purchased is in buckets, boxes and on shelves. I just came in from the
tractor shed from some more major dismantling.
Enjoy tht little '50 given the respect they deserve and they will give you
many days of enjoyment. You too may become a "CUBaholic".
B L, you will find that the people on this site are all friendly, helpful, aare
truly CUB enthusiast and a pure delight to know.
