Cub with two blades installed

Here are a couple of pics of both blades installed, and the box carry all (for added weight) on the back. The center blade is home built and is 72" wide. Still need to devise a way to support the front blade in the up position when only using the center blade. The center blade is held up in store position in photo. This works well when using the front blade to stack snow, my main reason for wanting the front blade. The center blade is better for clearing and not also moving a lot of under-lying gravel.

When not using the front blade, just pull the 3 pins that hold it to the pivot frame, and tie up the bottom arm to the frame. The frame should have enough clearnce even when you let the lift down.

I thought I was the only one using two blades on one tractor! My Ford 641 has a 3 pt blade on each end, and they are controlled separately.

You must have thought of this, but just in case... What about controlling the blades from opposite ends of the rockshaft arms? Since the touch control is two way, one way could be one blade and the other way would be the other. Transport would be the mid position.

Having a nifty setup like yours is a good way to keep it from snowing!

Nice rig Dan! Can you show/tell us more about it as it doesn't look like a #54 blade? If I still had two 54 blades, I could have had three blades on Rip Van Winkle! A 54 in frount, the 54-A in the middle and the Fast Hitch on the rear!! Guess I need to get out the camera and make some more pictures of my mid mount rig using rear cultivator holes. Also pictures on site below.

The center blade began life as a regular cat. 1, 3pt rear mount blade from Central Tractor Supply. It measures 13" high and 72" wide. I used only the blade part and fabricated all new mounting hardware in order to mount it under the cub. It also mounts to the final drives/fasthitch sockets where the rear cultivators would plug in. NOTE the black arrows in photo. This mount can be left in place, and still allow fast hitch operation for plowing, discing, carry all, etc. See photo below.
The blade can be stored in the up position using the eye bolt inserted into the torgue tube just below the clutch pedal. NOTE the black arrow in photo.
