Jeff,

:D :D It's unbelievable that your cover is still in that good a condition. Like George said, on mine you could only see remnants of the fabric under the crimp. That is a drain hole. The only thing that looks like it's missing is the brass grommet where the hole is.

Hi All

I just wanted to tell John $#@! the cub owner that I spoke to Darrell last night, and when he told me his address it is Moscow Mills MO. not Moscow Hills. John is such a great man and a wealth of knowledge on this board, so I just thought I should let him know, all the other info John posted is right on, even the price. THANKS PAUL K. in N.H. :D

Was there not also a plain unapholstered pan? I understood that the slip on covers were an original option?

If I typed Hills, it was a case of fingers and brain not working together. I used to live near there. Unfortunately I never heard about Mr Darst until I moved away.

I stand corrected...I typed hills instead of mills. Sorry about that.

My turn to learn, I knew you could get the seat either way on the bigger tractors, such as an H, but never knew you could on the cub.

The standard seat (at least on the earliest Cubs) was the plain metal seat. This isn't a Cub, but is an example of a seat that was never upholstered. It must of spent quite a bit of time out in the weather with a tie-on cover to have rusted through the way it did.

Along the same line, I have the "delux" seat on my '74. I bought the seat back and bottom advertised on ebay for $55. Not too bad. Should last a while since the tractor will be parked under roof. I've yet to see those arm rest pads in all the photos in the Updike book. Were they an option from the factory?

Yes, the arm rest pads were a separate option on top of the deluxe seat.
