Glad to see that you are alright and it was just the pride that was hurt. I thought that I was in your shoes yesterday. I was cleaning up after the last storm of just a couple inches and while I was plowing I would find these ice chunks that were solid in the ground. The first few weren't to bad but then I picked the front tires up off the ground about 5 or so inches. It was enough for me to check things out. Didn't see anything wrong so I just went back to plowing again.

Wow John! You just made me go to the barn and check Marti. I hit an edge in my blacktop drive the other day and it brought me to a dead stop. I couldn't see anything starting to happen on mine.

Sorry about the Cub, but I'm glad you were braced for it.

If I can help with part of the express in moving George's torque tube give me a shout.

Ouch. Not good. As long as you were not hurt - the Cub is repairable.

I hit the steering wheel with my chest when the mott flail mower wrapped up about 30 feet of wire on the reel. Instantaneous dead stop. Chest hurt for several days.

WOW I'm glad you didn't get hurt.

First your ok thats more important, material things can be repaired we can't.

I have seen people crank up the PTO springs on the gravely tractors. I never thought of checking them until i broke a rotary plow spacer. After that i checked every PTO attachment for the correct spring adjustment. These are big 750lb walk behind tractors and i seen my dad who was a big man get sat down by one once too. The snowplow has no trip spring and he caught the edge in the side walk dead nuts. It put the handle into his ribs knocking the wind out of him. He was flying in high range while plowing snow.

I never take the spring adjustment lightly I always back off on they to were they will just work safely.

I had an old jeep 2way plow with a front end spring for a trip setup. Someone made it. I hit it one day really hard and took all four wheels off the ground. I stood the whole jeep up on my welds on the plow frame. Thats a hell of a way to check my welds? I know the feeling....Glad your ok.

John, I hate to be a copycat, but I too am glad you were not injured.

And it's too bad about the torque tube, but that is not too hard to fix.

I hit the steering wheel once with my old blade when it hit something right on the corner and didn't trip, but this is the first time I ever hit anything in the center that didn't trip. Thankfully, after the first time I learned to have a good grip.

Yup, it really got my attention when the front wheels came up and the blade started folding under.



I thought about taking it to WRC for a project, but I want to get it ready to paint, plus do a little other work on it, so I may just work on it a little at a time as I feel like it. Will take a while, but I will make it.

Man! John, you're hard on that old girl. Glad to hear you weren't physically harmed. Thats an easy and probably a fun fix. I've got an extra torque tube here I was willing to offer but it looks like you have a couple of closer options.
