Cubarama...or RPRU

If one had to choose of the two....with the goals being seeing a lot of cubs, and perhaps returning home with a part or two, maybe an implement..or two, what would it be? I understand RPRU is in late June and in Mt. Pleasant IA? Cubarama??? Summers are busy for me and it looks to be tough to get enough time off to take the kids on vacation and attend a couple of tractor shows...so I'm shooting for just one tractor show.

My choice would be the Cub-Arama. :!: 8) You will see alot of cubs and cub cadets. There are a few vendors and showers selling parts and some complete implements. If you don't see what you need or want at the show, JP Tractor opens nights of the show from 6-9 P.M. They will have what you need...would maybe even load it up and bring it to the show. You will also get to meet a bunch of us farmallcub.com folks and make some new friends.

Harold:

Now I am hurt!  Why have to debate about Cub-arama or RPU when the clear choice would be CubFest Northeast 2004:!: :D

Not only is New Brunswick a great place for visiting - we have the warmest waters north of the Carolina's :!: Excellent beaches, wonderful trails, fishing camps (Atlantic Salmon!!!!!), your typical tourist traps I guess, and some of the best food north of Louisiana (cajun food that is!). Jeez I am beginning to sound like Jed! Can't forget my trout pond either  :!:

To top it off, we have Cubs coming and there is plenty of parts and implements to be had. Plus your buck goes much father here than anywhere in the states..

Come and visit us June 11, 12 and 13th for CubFest Northeast 2004! The obvious choice.

Course, I wouldn't mind getting to Cubarama or RPU either - just way to far to go unfortunately!

I would love to go to Cubfest. But the Red Power event is only about 45 mile away from my Dad's place, so I will be going there. If anyone from this board is going please let me know, would like to meet some of these fine folks!!

I will be at the RPRU in June. I hope to show my '45 B Farmall. I, too, would like to know if there are others that plan on attending. We need a central meeting place and time.

Paul, Cubarama is held in Fredericktown Missouri. It is hosted by J.P. Tractor Salvage. If you go to their web site, Jamie has information listed there.

THANKS BigDog
I should have know it was in the same place as last year. I think maybe I got confused with the Cubfest which was at Mr. Willers place last year, but is going to be, I think in Iowa this year. Paul K in N.H.

FCNJ:

CubFest Northeast 2004 is going to be held at Chown's Farm near Sussex NB the weekend of the 11th, 12th and 13th of June. Meet and greet Friday evening (11th). On Saturday workshops, tractor displays, plowing contest and hilling contest plus a sit down dinner and live entertainment is being planned. Sunday morning is the 3rd workshop and the last contest. There will be prizes for the winners of the contests, door prizes and other things going on. We are hoping to have the local 4H Club prepare lunch on Sunday.

We are in the final stages of planning for this, and the posterbills and the webpage advertising should be completed shortly (awaiting art work). Detailed events calendar will be available as well.

I am trying to get CAA to put together "how to get there from the border crossing" maps to help in finding the farm. There will be signs as well and an example of the sign will be posted on the webpage.

Oh, the 3 workshops will be on Carbs, Governors and a Tranny Rebuild...

We have a bunch of guys from all over the Maritimes and some from the States already committed to attending. Also, there will be 60 years of IH tractors, (not complete but representative) as well as the Letter Series from Cub to M and we hope a demonstrator and a number of other Cubs. I am hoping to get hold of the Sweetheart Cub's owner and see if he will be coming.

I will be going to Cub-A-Rama and Red power this year. I only live 20 miles from Mt Pleasent and only about 120 from Fredericktown. I am truly blessed this summer. Would be a good idea to come up with a place and time for all to meet up, I know I sure would like to meet and visit with all of you. We live on the Mississippi river and if any of you need a place to put your tent or campers, you are sure welcome we have plenty of room and a beautiful view!

Rudi,

I am interested in the Cubfest and would appreciate any info as it becomes available. My father is also very interested in cubs and surely would love to attend. Is the show on at the same time as the car show in Debert? My father is originally from Sydney, N.S. and usually spends his summer in the east. I am sure that he would be willing to travel from N.S to N.B. for the show. Two years ago he drove from Ont. to N.S, then returned to Ont. for a show in Athens,Ont. ,and returned east after the show.I think he is hooked.

Thanks,
Bill

Unless something happens, I plan to attend to attend both RPRU and Cubarama, and think a get together at RPRU would be great. The ATIS members usually have a get together I try to attend also.

HR, if you are only interested in Cubs, I think we get as many or more at Cubarama, and it's closer. If you want to see a wide range if IH stuff from tractors to trucks and scouts, to implements and household appliances, then you need to go to RPRU. P.S. Cubrama is Friday and Saturday of the last weekend in September.

Rudi,
Didn't mean to leave you out. I love Canada, and spend a lot of time up there, occasionally making it to Halifax, N.S. which is as close to Moncton as I've been. It would be a hard sell to the Boss, especially if I took my fishing gear. So I gotta shoot for something closer. However, I hear there may be a problem with accomodations at Cubarama. So as soon as I get some dates, I can determine where and if I could attend.
A friend I work with is a dedicated RPRU visitor. He's taking a couple of cubs, which started me wanting to go. I've considered renting a RV, but they want my first born along with a couple of appendages...so, maybe I'll just wait for the photos.

HR, here is a link to Cubarama http://www.jptractorsalvage.com/cubarama.html
It is Sept. 23-25, with the 23 (Thursday) being a set up day. Poplar Bluff is about 60 miles south of it, which may be a little longer drive than you would want to make every day, but it considering where you are coming from, it might be a little closer than driving on north to Farmington. Wish I still had my camper, I'd take it down and rent it out.
