Need help with seal installI'm installing the govenor seal in the crankcase and I am not clear on the instructions. Should the side of the seal with the spring be to the govenor or the distributor?
The four most expensive words in tractor restoration: "We might as well..."
The spring should be toward the distributor. The open side of the seal faces the governor. The governor has a gasket between it and the block to keep oil from leaking out. The seal keeps oil away from the distributor.
