I located a used front engine timing cover (48 Cub) to replace my old one that has a broken/welded bracket for the radiator fan. However, the replacement cover is missing the timing pointer. How hard will it be to remove the one on my old cover and press it into the replacement cover? Bill V.

They are just pressed in, though sometimes pretty tight. I had to remove the one on the 49 cub that Cub-bud is refurbishing for me to get my bearing seperator on the pulley to remove it. I just put a big pair of vice grips on it and twisted it back and forth while pulling out. Took a little effort, but came right out. Bud and Russ are going to have to worry aobut reinstalling it.

"Bud and Russ are going to have to worry aobut reinstalling it".
They go back in easier than they come out, you just have to remember to put it in BEFORE installing the crank pulley.
