This is the same seller who bought out a salvage yard and tried to make his fortune on that partial Cub. He came down from $900 to $295 and still didn't get a bid.

I wonder why this one was junked, with such straight sheet metal?

Some tractors, like the H and M had their batteries under the tank. I'm not sure this A didn't as well.

As has been stated, H and M both had their batteries under the fuel tank, but they were equipped with a cover on the battery box that had rubber bumpers over the posts. Many of them had the covers left off so a car battery (cheaper, but also taller) could be used. Sure was scary though looking at our H laying completely upside down with the only thing between the battery posts and the steel gas tank being a layer of paint. Needless to say, when we got everything repaired the lid was reinstalled.

If the Ark. highway department used it for mowing, it is probably totaly worn out. Ark. doesn't have a lot of money for equipment, and they use all their equipment as long as possible. Boy do I know that feeling.

On my A, the battery box sits behind the gas tank between the mount and the steering wheel support. This is a bugger to work on; so I don't know how you can do anything with it under the gas tank! I wonder if that front hitch was put on so they could tow from one area to the next for mowing or whatever? If so, everthing on the frontend has to be worn out and wobbly. I feel sorry for that tractor to be so abused. If it was closer, I would offer the guy a hundred bucks for it and help it have a nice easy retirement!
