I need your help again. I looked in Rudi's info and went back thru the postings, but I cannot find the info I thought I'd seen here before. I have a leak at the base of the fuel tank, where the sediment bowl unit threads into the tank. Any suggestions please? Thanks again, Bob

If the leak is at the threads, try some fuel resistant teflon tape on the threads. Should be available at any good auto parts store.

Thanks BigDog. I will try that tomorrow. Bob

Bob, one thing to be careful of using teflon tape, is be sure you don't let a corner get over the fuel inlet, or a little piece tear loose that can go down the fuel system. I'v gotten to where I use teflon paste a lot of the time. You can get it at most hardware or plumbing supply stores. Many auto parts stores also carry it.

Hi Bob
I got some thread sealant in a tube at napa. The package reads napa /permetex thread sealant. It is high performance automotive grade. The tube is green and reads Loctite industrial grade pipe sealant with teflon #565. The tube is 1.69 FL. OZ. In big letters on the tube it reads PST. Paul K. in N.H.

John and Paul, thanks for the advice and suggestions. I will be visiting the NAPA store tomorrow. I knew I could count on this site for good help. Bob

Hi Bob,
I am glad to see the paste worked for you. Just a reminder for future use
should you ever need it: you may want to visit the POR15.com site for
tank sealer. They say it will seal up small pinhole cracks rusted out
areas, etc.
I have used it on solid non-leaking tanks and it is great.
