Hi All
Just the other day on here we were talking about the dog leg bolts, the two small ones at the bottom I think Are 10 24, then there are four 1/4 20 truss heads to hold on the front grille, and at the top we said two more 1/4 20's to bolt through to the hood/tank. I have nuts welded into the underside of the tank, two of them have bolts sheared off in the nuts, I tried a 1/4 20 bolt in the others but the nuts welded inside are smaller than 1/4 20 and I don't know what size they are. I have all the manuals but sometimes I can't find the facts in there I need. I got my manuals along time ago from bates corp. and hope they are as good as the ones from binder books. Any idea what size those tank bolts are ? THANK YOU Paul Kin N.H.

try a 12/24 screw. they probably were tapped out at some point. if that doesn't work, use longer screws and put nuts on the inside. not exactly correct, but functional and out of sight.

Hi Jim
I read yuor post and thought, I never saw any 5/16 bolts, so I just went
and had a look. I see where the holes are in the radiator supports and now with your knowledge, realize there were not any 5/16 bolts in there since I got the tractor. Like you said, one side has a bracket and on one side it's broken off. I thought the little pinhole was a spot rusted through on the front corner of the hood, but I think it may be from a spot weld that got taken off with the bracket whenever that broke off. So, the top two little bolts on the top of the dog leg that bolt into the hood are 10/24 or 12/24???? I will make up a little bracket and have someone weld it on there for me and fasten it with 5/16 X 1/2 bolts to the radiator supports. THANK YOU!! and the others that posted, its hard being a rookie. It's done mechanically, waiting to be prepped and painted. Bud is going to get his Super A, and his Dad's cub ready, then paint them all the same time. Probably about the middle of April if he can keep me away that long. The toughest part will be waiting for the paint to harden good before I go buzzing up the road getting bugs splattered all over it.
