Farmall Cub

I need to drop the oil pan on my cub this weekend to inspect the bottom half of the engine. I looked underneath last night and I see bolts around 3 sides of the pan, the side towards the tranny seems to disappear. Is there a cover there or something that has to be removed to get to the rear bolts.

This may be obvious when I look again in the daylight, but thought you guys may have some useful tips when dropping the pan.

You have to remove the cover from the front of the bell housing. You can then get at the back bolts on the oil pan. If I remember I had to use a universal joint on the ratchet wrench to get the back bolts out.

Hello neighbor, sort of anyway. I'm in Shreve/Bossier all the time.
The previous owner of my '49 actually slotted the back 3 bolts of the oil pan so as to use a big screw driver, at least to get them started. Proved useful when it all went back together.

My wife may be going to Shreveport later this week to pick up a little dog. If I feel up to the ride, I may go with her. It's 5 hours one way though.
