pto shifter problem

i'm looking at buying a "53" cub , the man says that every now and then when he is mowing the pto disingauges he takes the cover off and a set screw has fallen out and it is down in the oil he fishes it out and puts it back he says that it holds a paw he calls it and it ingauges a worm gear that makes the pto work if this makes sence and you have a fix let me know please , thanks alot as usually

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. A pretty full explanation of PTO problems is on page 2 of the ATIS Cub FAQ.
