Original leaks, new one leaks... does the triple baffle style leak and slober or does anyone know of one that doesn't. Sure makes a mess on new paint. Does anyone know where can I get one that doesn't and at a decent price?

The lip of the gas tank can get distorted and cause leaks if it has been over tightned. Now there may be hope if you happen to have an old school IH dealer near you, he may still have the tool that IH issued to reshape the tank flange. On one of my caps, I ordered a new gasket, took out the old gasket and installed everything. It still leaked, so I put the old gasket under the new one and no more leaks.

Take a look at your gas tank neck. Is it level and even all the way around or has it been beaten down somewhere around the radius? If all the caps leak, the problem is likely the fill opening.

If you want the new gas cap from Navistar click here Gas Cap.

Print it out, make sure you include your Cub's serial number, stick it in the mail and in a couple of weeks - poof there ya go - a new gas cap in the mail. Total cost = 1 stamp!
