A Question?

I have been informed that hot dipped glavanizing is available locally, price mentioned was approximately $0.40/lb.
Given the choice, would you all recommend having the rear rims hot dipped, or just painted?
Kind of curious. I am figuring that the four rear rims (Jethro and Ellie's) would probably weigh in around 2 or 300 lbs. and even with a minimum $100.00 charge, it would be reasonably inexpensive to have them hot dipped.. What do you all think?

At that cost and for what advantage I think I will stick with the purtier looking cheap paint job.

If that price includes preperation I'd probably go for the hot dip due to durability.

ACTUALLY, EITHER WAY I THINK YOU HAVE A UNIQUE IDEA. I CONSIDERED HAVING MY MOWER DECK GALVANIZED. AND THE PLATFORM THAT SUFFERS FROM BATTERIES AND THE ELEMENTS.

my experiment with cold zinc galvanizing paint on the rims didn't turn out like a hot dip job. left the rims basically a dull gray primer look that didn't cut it.
ended up with two new rims, in a nice factory gray enamal. Tucker Tire, good people to deal with.
if your rims are in good condition, i'd consider $.40 /lb i like the look of hot dipped. new rims were $68 plus shipping.
