JACKING UP CUB REAR END

Hello cub stars

I need to pull off both rear wheels and tires to repaint the IH silver color on my rims.

Please tell me the best "jacking point" and the best place to put the jack stands (stand). ?

What is a best jack and jack stand(s) to get for this purpose. Any suggestions on brand and price?

Should I remove the weights first?

Any tips??

If you look under your axle you will see two jack pads... they are sort of elipsoid in shape and are cross-hattched. We used 20 ton bottle jacks, but any hydraulic with the right reach will do. Don't forget to wedge the front axle.

Also, check the service manual on the server -- it has the correct procedure.

As for the weights - I would suggest you make sure you have someone with you as them wheels are heavy with the weights on - I know - and Don't Ask Why

Also, ask George Willer to explain how he takes his off - novel idea and ideal for one man...

Course, there is the other option which I call the "Rudi Option" which is : pick up the phone, dial brother in law, get him to bring his 20 ton crane over, sling it and awaaaaaay ya go

I used 2-ton stands that I got at Wal-Mart on sale for 10-bucks a pair.

Do NOT use cinder or concrete blocks to block it up!
