From what I have seen in pics and other Cubs my (48) hydraulic tank looks odd, besides it has rubber pressure hoses.
Anybody familiar with this set-up?.
PICS.

Jim, What you see as a shine`y rod is the wire harness going to the battery. The square box under what you thought was an electric pump is the reservoir/tank. It has (1)-Ram on the right side of the tractor. I will take more pics tomorrow when its light out of the ram setup. What you see is all thats there and if that aint a Cub pump then????.
Yes John*?-lJ, (Hard to remember yer title without pastin it.) It is a 48 with 6-volt system.

What Jim and I thought was a pump, I assume is a control valve. I see 2 hoses coming out the left side and apparently going forward. do they go to an original type hydralic pump at the left front corner of the engine?
Yup John, The 2 hoses go to the pump picture you posted. That control sure does look like a motor though. Had me fooled.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that!

I guess so B.D. _ The guy or previous owers did a lot of good things beside weird things to it though like I see it has a brand new radiator and ss/steel bolts mounting it. The guy I bought it from must have spent "BIG" bucks on it though because his wife said he didn`t know what end of a wrench to use after you told him what a wrench was. I paid $500 for it and it cost me an extra $18 to get it running.
