instead of using a alterate drawbar for my midmount blade can i use a regular drawbar and leave the regular drawbar on back, and if so why was the alterante draw bar invented ?

To use the regular drawbar for the blade, it still mounts in the rear holes, but faces forward. This leaves no way to hitch anything to the rear of the tractor, and no way to install a second drawbar. The alterante mount uses the front mounting holes, and leaves the rear ones for the drawbar in the standard position.

Sometimes you need the same mounting holes on the final drives for 2 drawbars, if you intend to keep a rear drawbar attached. The alternate drawbar allows you to use the forward mounting holes with the standard drawbar attached to the rear set of holes.
Holy cow, I hope this makes sense!
