I picked up a short sicklebar mower with a Cub a while back. I think it is a regular bar that has been shortened?? Any ideas what it may have been made for? Is this a common practice? Thanks for any enlightenment. Harold in CT

Harold,

How many sections does it have? They were made in two lengths, with either 18 or 20 sections. I have one of each. Is yours shorter?

I'll have to look and reply later. On another note, my pumpkins are sprouting nicely! I hope I didn't put them in too early here in CT. Do deer or woodchucks like pumpkins? Harold

Hi Harold

The woodchucks ate up most of my pumpkin plants last year. Paul K. in N.H. :(

Cublo, I don't know about the deer in CT. But the ones in WV. Will eat any thing thats green, If I didn't have an electric fence up. a garden would be a big waste of time for me. Oh by the way Hi. George Brenda's 58 Cub lo-boy should be Finish by fall. she'll send you some pictures of it. Dave F.

Harold,

most pumpkins are done in 120 days that I know of. If you want them for Halloween you may be just a tad early. Pumpkins LOVE fertilizer, so the more crap you can get in the soil the more they'll like it! Oh, and lots of water too. If you can keep the critters from munching them there's the darn insects to contend with then. The 2 that we get around here are the vine borers and the squash bug. Have fun!
