Two questions

1. How much preasure do you run in front and back tires.

2. I would like to put a 2" ball on my draw bar. I can't find one with a small enough shaft to fit in the hole. What do you guy's do? I hate to drill the hole out.

Hi I had the same problem. I used a 1/2 plate of steel and cut two holes in it to bole to the draw bar and a bigger one for the ball. It is holding up good. Although someone else may have a better Good luck

I run 20 psi in the fronts and 12 psi in the rears.

On the hitch ball - I found one that was just slightly too big to go in the drawbar hole. I then took a rotary file and reamed the drawbar just ever so slightly until the ball shaft would fit. It is a snug fit and if you look at the drawbar holes you can't tell it's been reamed.

I came across the same thing on my 61. I think the original hole was 5/8 and I did not want to drill it out, but I did only up to 3/4 as you can get most balls with a 3/4 threaded shank. I figure an 1/8 of an inch was not making things to far off from original, maybe I am not a perfectionist. Paul K. in N.H.

That's about what I thought too, but when I put 20 psi in the fronts they really look low. They are (Japan?) tires from Tucker.

I ran them up to about 32 psi and they "look" about right. But do you think that is too much?

Haven't got to the back yet. Just got the tractor in the garage and jacked up on stands ready to tear off and mount tomorrow I hope.

If they are the 3 rib implement tires you will want a little squat in them. If they are inflated to the point that they have no flex, they will dig every time you turn and if you're mowing a lawn with them you will leave grooves where you turn. They will also not hold as well on turns if over-inflated. Remember, you're not talking highway speeds here so a little squat isn't necessarily bad.

For the trailer hook up, try this.

Grab a 2"ID receiver - weld a plate to it. Drill two holes to match the holes in your draw bar. Pop in with bolts. Then use the 2" OD stock for the hitch stock. You can mount the 2" ball on one face an a 1-7/8" ball on another face. (Princess Auto has pre-manufactured universals in their on-line catalog) Now you have pretty much all you will ever need to tow stuff around the yard.

That is what I am going to do. I already have a drawbar that has been butchered by the PO drilling to different diameters. I finally cut out the extra stock he had welded in (couldn't use me plow as the drawbar was too wide), and now I am touching up the holes, one at a time. Got to practice my welding somehow

Btw, did you get your clutch adjusted?

Most auto parts can order a 2" ball with 5/8 shank.
Thats where I got mine.
