Hey Dave,

That is really neat. Could you let us know the technical specs? Which generator are you using, where can we get one and what kind of output does it produce at what rpm? How fast do you have to run your cub to get the right output??

The generator head is a NorthStar 5500, it produces 5000 watts continuous.

The pulley is a variable pitch sheave #3X438 from Grainger

For initial setup, set the engine at about 1600 RPM (you may need more RPM if you are going to be putting a real heavy load on the generator) and adjust the sheave to give the proper generator speed.
When I get ready to use the generator I use a volt meter and set engine RPM.
If hooking up to your house be sure to install a transfer switch.

Now that is TOO cool! :D All this time I was thinking of buying an air cooled generator, and I've already got half the setup ! Now if I can just get a cement mixer hooked up! :lol:
