My cub will not start. It is a 1957 lo- boy.
I have spark at all four plugs and spark at the points.
New cap, rotor and points, new copper wires.
Rebuilt the carb, new sediment bowl with gasket and screen, gel coated the gas tank, and fresh gas.
My head hurts from banging against the wall of my barn.
I do have a shop manual but it does not seem to be a lot of help at this point.
I did have the plug wires in the wrong place on the cap but that has been corrected thanks to your help.
Starting fluid does not make the motor fire, the motor will not fire at all.
The cub was running fine last year before the winter.
I had a problem with the gas, it was very dirty in the bowl and the bowl gasket was dissolved that is why I did all the work on the fuel side.
One thing I noticed was that the coil is very hot when I am trying to start the motor. So hot that I can not keep my hand on the coil. Is that normal?
