DISCING WITH HI-CROP CUB

Sun Jun 27, 2004 11:25 pm

Cleaned out the float bowl by removing one drain nut, holding my finger over it to let it fill again and draining it again, Did that about five times...Thanks Farmer..This seems to have cleared up the problem. The Hi-Crop is running fine now. Also, oiled up the fasthitch and all the linkage on the tractor. That choke linkage was sticking badly. That was part of the problem too. Maybe the tractor just likes the mountain air though.

Don't think this is the best setup for discing though. Seems those oversized rear wheels and tires like to rub on the edges of the disc when I get on a side hill and the disc swings low to the side. Maybe I didn't have the hitch set correctly, as I had it cranked all the way up for a light cut. The touch control worked perfect..when I got onto a raised area and the disc dug in too much, a touch of the contol gave the disc just enough lift to get me going again.

The touch control started to labor during the lifting and lowering of the disc and hitch. It is low on Hytran, and I don't have any. I will finish this up tomorrow or when I get the fluid.

I am going to get this place green before the RED ROOSTER RUCKUS next winter
