Sickle bar

Postby Scott C » Fri Jul 02, 2004 7:21 pm

I finally got the sickle bar right after breaking the pitman arm (old and dry) then breaking the adjustment bolt for the belt. PO had broke it and put a coupling of sorts on the bolt to make it long enough, problem was, it wouldn't adjust up. No matter, it fell off the other day.
I cut it off the adjustment plate with a wheel.

Here's what he had on there.

I welded a piece of 1/2" all thread to it.

Picture is bad but the weld is not much better, it'll hold though.

I got a good two hours of cutting in, sure is fun but I couldn't imagine doin' it all day.....
Needed a good cigar and I'm ready to go.
