Well I know now that the tank is clean and I want to proceed with replacing the gas line and rebuilding the carb.

Geo. is that brake line you had the right size for the gas line? Where can I get new fittings for the carb and sed. bowl? One of mine is stripped...

Any suggestions on gas line making and bending would be appreciated.

Mike,

Buy a 5/16" x 18" brake line at any local auto parts store. It will come with the right fittings... but you'll have to cut the flared ends off and add 5/16" compression ferrules (or olives as some call them).

I don't think I can write a description of how to do the bending, but it really isn't difficult. There are benders made for the purpose, but I just use a small pulley.

The tubing benders make a lot tighter bend than you need for the gas line. A v-pulley of reasonable width and diameter sounds like a good idea. I've done them free-hand but it requires care to not put a kink in.
