We've been very fortunate to have great corn crops in recent years. This
year, our local newspaper noticed how great it looks and ran a picture of
our front field as part of a feature on the good corn crop on their front page. Just for the record, the picture was taken last Thursday (7-01-04). Today (7/5), the ears and tassels are popping out. I'm 6' 1" and I can't reach the top in places.

Here in Alabama the corn is already tasseled and the ears have silk. They are pulling sweet corn now and have been for awhile. It is the best looking crop I have seen in some time. Usually about now we have hot and dry with crop twisted and distressed, but for the last three weeks, plenty of rain (need to cut hay and cann't). Will be up in Ohio soon and I am looking forward to OHIO sweet corn, ain't none better. :D

BY the by, any good salvage yars in the Canton/Dover/New Philly area for cub parts? Or even in a reasonable drive from that area. Also looking for a place to buy some equipment for Missy (she now has a name). :?:
