Bacon Drippings in my oil pan!?

When I pulled my dipstick out tonight there was what looked like bacon drippings on the dipstick for at least a few inches. I then reinserted it and pulled out more, but it was less. I know the previous owner had run synthetic oil in Snappy prior to me owning it. I have only run ND 30W in it since I owned it.

How long has it been since you put the 30w nd in it ?
It sounds like the two did not mix.

Why would you change from a synthetic oil to a non-detergent 30-weight oil?. (Just curious)

I don't know why I did, I just didn't see the need for synthetic oil in my cub. Why would someone change from ND to syn without a proper rebuild of the engine?

Can't speak for anyone other than myself, but this summer I decided to try blended oil in my 48 that was last rebuilt 17 years ago. It has improved my oil pressure which was getting pretty low.

That was a fair answer. :P

If you are going to try and clean out your "Bacon-Drippings" I think I would use some detergent 30-weight for about 5-hours and change it again. The oil I use in everything I run except my diesel is still under a buck a quart so I dont skimp on oil changes.
