Engine Rebuild

Postby farmerboy60441 » Wed Jul 28, 2004 3:24 pm

Does any one out there know of a place that will do an engine rebuild on a farmall cub. The cub cadet and IH dealer's price are a little rich for our blood. Its more than we spent on the tractor to buy it. Any help would be great. It has low compresson and needs to be rebuilt.

You could check your local Yella Pages for an Engine Rebuilder, or if your are handy and have access to a few measuring tools etc.. you could easily do some of the work yourself and have a machine shop do the major work like oversizing the bores, an dturning the crank, if required.

First though, how bad are things? Have you checked the compression? Are there "bad" noises coming from the engine?

Where are you located? Major center or rural outback?
