Farmall Cub

I have been rebuilding my 48 Cub all summer as some of you know. It is all put back together and painted up real pretty. Last night I was doing some last minuet items like putting the brake and clutch pedels back on.

To my horror you MUST install the clutch pedel before you connect the torque tube to the tranny! I was soooo frustrated I could just spit! I had to resplit my freshly painted tractor and worked until after dark to get it done.

Live and learn, the next one will be so much easier

Please learn from my mistake and save yourself the aggravation.

I finished a French Cub a couple of years ago 2 days before Redpower and discovered the clutch was bad when I went to drive it out of the shop.
Split it the next morning and had a new clutch in it and on the trailer in 2 hours.

Been there done that.

Wow, sorry to hear that! I have been taking my own Cub apart without specific procedural instructions...

Is there a manual I should be following? I have been using the parts manual and operations manual to see how everything comes apart, but that of course does not indicate specific order of assembly, or further procedures like jacking or disconnecting the battery.

I was almost too ashamed to post this but figured I might save someone else the hassle.

Allenlook, there is no step by step manual for reassembly. Just go slow and think it through. Take pictures for reference before you disassemble if you can.

Ifn you go to the server at the link below, the Blue Ribbon Service Manuals do have some detailed instructions - primarily meant for IH service techs, but it does help.

Have a look and see which one is best for theparticular section you are working on.
