FIRST CARB REBUILT

Postby Arizona Mike » Tue Aug 10, 2004 11:51 am

I took the carb off the '57 last week and rebuilt it. It was not as confusing or difficult as I had thought. Trying to be like Donny here...its been brushed up a little...had been painted red before. Hope it will make my tractor run better.

What did you use to clean and polish the carb. Just started on mine this last weekend but am a long way from being as goodlooking as yours.

Thanks, I think it turned out pretty good too. Now if I could find the new manifold gasket that I know I have somewhere, I could put it back on

BAMACUB'ER, I brushed it with paint remover to get the red paint off, then soaked it in a gallon of carb cleaner for three days. I brushed the pieces with a small toothbrush type brass bristle brush. inside and out. When it was put back together, I brushed it more until it started to shine. Spent about an hour on it.

Mike
