I believe Value-Bilt has a kit. J.P. Tractor Salvage sells a kit as well. If you're going to have machine work done, price the parts through the shop. They will probably give you a good deal. And, as John Puckett points out, you only have one place to deal with if you have parts or workmanship issues.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

So are the after market parts made to the same quality as the OEM parts? The Machine shop did not know "who"made the parts that they could get I assume that they are made off shore??

Thanks

Contact Jamie at J.P. Tractor Salvage. She can advise you where their kits come from. I also understand that the Value-Bilt kits are good but I can't say from personal experience.

Mnay of tehafter-market kits are packaged kits with parts from recognized manufacturers, IE Clevite bearings, Hastings rings etc. Many times, the same manufacturers that IH used to provide the original components. The price difference comes from fewer hands in the cookie jar.
