I have a tire swing hung from an old cherry tree-from a big branch about 15 feet up.

When I mow, I "bump" th etire swing with the front axle, which moves teh tire out of the way. This has worked for about 4 years with no problems.

Last week, while mowing, the "bump", instead of moving the tire out of the way, got it caught around the end of the front axle-by the time I got the tractor stopped, the front end was about 3 feet in the air, hanging from the tire, the 3/8" poly rope, and that big branch, which was now directly above my head!

Luckily for me, stopping and backing up put the front end back on teh ground, with no lasting damage to anything.

Rob:

I am glad you are ok. That is the most important thing. Secondly, glad the Cub didn't get dinged too badly. Sure puts a new meaning to "slip slidin away" - Brakes don't do no good there much.

Really nice piece of property you have to mow. Good idea.. with that slope to let the dew dry before you get some seat time -- again, just glad you are ok :!:

Glad you were'nt hurt. If I was on the tractor there would have been some damage or clean up required on that pretty white seat for sure.    Grump

Was the current running??? Kind of reminds me of when my big ram Bear went through one of my fences dragging the electric fencing along with him. Hope the Cub damage was minimal...

As long as you survived now fix the brakes.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
