Has anyone evertried one of the Swisher Post Master trimmers that Northern tool and a few others sell? it looks like it would work great for pulling with my cub to trim fences.

John,

It would most likely do the job... but $530 would buy a LOT of Roundup!

True, but in hill country like this, spraying a trail of roundup wide enough to keep an elctric fence clear of fescue frequently results in ditches when it rains, and we don't have enough topsoil to waste any.

No, but now...

Nope, haven't used one, but now I want one!

My ground is really rocky, I would be better off trying to hook up something like their 21" push-behind, as the wheels are much bigger and the swath is still about the same, (and it's cheaper!)

If you have a TSC near you, you can see the machine you posted about in person. Can't say much on my side at all. I do know there were several returned units to the TSC in my area. Don't know any of the details, but something didn't run out right. Just food for thought.

Stick with my -22

I have seen one of these and if the one northern has is built as cheap don't waist your money to much plastic.
Other problem is if grass is to high it swings backall the time or will even push the whole unit sideways.
They do work good if you keep your grass mowed like a lawn.

One of my neighbors at my country place has one and he swears by it not at it. He uses it under his wooden horse corrals. There must be at least 4000 feet of fence.

I purchased one from Sears last summer. I kept it for an hour and a half. Everytime the line hit a post, it broke. By the time I had cleared 50 foot of fence, I had broken all the line that came with it. I went and got my money back.
