Cultivating

Postby Bob Roraback » Wed Sep 01, 2004 5:50 pm

OK, I am going to sound real stupid here so brace yourselves. Would somebody post some pictures and a brief explanation on the operation of a Cub cultivator as far as row spacing options and how some of you guys set up your rows. I would love to see some pics of the cultivator in action.
I have the same cultivator as the one pictured in the post titled Joe and his Cub but I also have tines on the rear toolbar. Thanks for any explanations , Bob

Cultivator spacing

Postby Jersey_cub » Thu Sep 02, 2004 3:55 pm

Bob I'm the fella on the cub you had mentioned. If you space your rows about four feet that should give you enough room to cultivate, it realy depends on what you want to do when spacing the tines, for example I would space the centers further apart when cultivating crops that are up to about a foot or so, and also side dressing. As far as the rear spacing if your only cultivating row crop I would leave them aligned with the rear wheals. You can adjust the remaining to your liking. I hope this helps but I suppose there will be lots more opinions to follow.
