Postby RedNed » Mon Sep 06, 2004 10:01 pm

Does anybody make field type chains for the cub. Rather then the ladder type?

RedNed,

What's the difference? I'm only familiar with ladder type chains (mine), and ring chains, like on my dad's old Ford 8N.

Allen:

The ladder chains slip down between the lugs. They then become almost useless - ask me I know. I have another set of chains that came with my blade -- these ones have BIG lugs on em. Gonna try them this winter either on Granny or Ellie. Not sure which yet.

Ladders

Postby allenlook » Tue Sep 07, 2004 1:34 pm

Rudi,

I gathered that was a problem when I looked at the tirechains.com website... Man, there really IS a website for everything!

But I don't think it will be a problem for me when I use the chains as I don't plan to use them on AG tires, I have those new Firestone All Treads I bought with overlapping turf tread on them, so there's no place for the ladder chains to drop into the tread. Having worked with a buddy's Cub with turfs and ladder chains, it works *really* well.
