Starter question

Postby WJ » Tue Sep 07, 2004 7:03 pm

Is the starter supposed to be painted black or red??? I like either way, but I want to be correct.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape.

From the factory, it would have been red. If added later, or replaced from a supplier, it would likely have been black.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I have never seen any Delco badge replacements but a starter/generator repair shop could probably give you that answer. I was going to remove the badge on mine for painting but could not remove the rivets so I carefully masked it with tape.
Then came Bronson
