I know many have been assisting me and following my delima on "no fire".
Well, sometimes it is best to just walk away and come back later. That is
exactly what I did.

I took Jonn's and Bigdog's suggestions and went back to basics and re-checked everything with the VOM. Points; P-o-i-n-t-s, those "POINTS"
they were new out of the box but when I re-tested no continunity through
the contacts. It looked like they were coated with some type of lacquer or
other substance. I burnished and turned the engine over about two
revs and, GW runs.

Thanks guys for all the help

:D

Chalk up another one to bad parts out of the box! It seems you hear a lot of that any more. Congratulations Russ. See you next week!

IH?

Were those points IH, Made in China, or both?

I think most IH ignition components come from Mexico now.

They were genuine IH made in , well, you know south of the Border.

I try to use the GM approach, "Keep your CUB all IH" and stick to IH parts
whenever possible. It maybe just a local thing but I have found, believe it
or not, that almost all parts are less expensive at my IH dealer than parts
houses.

Thanks again everyone.

From experience, I say original parts IH for sure.
Especially for the carb rebuild kits, and gaskets.

CORONA OR TEQUILA,...... maybe :?:

Russ, I was glad to hear you got Guy Walker/G.W. started. I'll see you Sunday afternoon for another great episode of "rescue rangers".
