oil in fan hub

Postby tompotato » Sat Sep 18, 2004 8:58 am

My brother and I are working on one of the cubs and we filled the oil as it says. But, the oil seems to run out the back of the fan assembly next to the engine. Is the normal the book doesn't show anything in there to stop it from running out ???

Thanks
tom

Fan oil

Did you rotate the fill hole to the 6 o'clock position with the screw out so that it can properly drain to the desired level? There is a little stand pipe in there that drains the excess oil out. An over filled hub will leak oil out the back.

hub

yes will turned it like it said and drained it but at the same time it runs out the back of the shaft next to the engine.. it looks like there should be some type of seal at the back of hub assembly...but the service book doesn't show it..

thanks tom

Manual

TP,

Parts Manual TC-37F, Group 12, Page 5 shows a better explosion of the assembly than my service manual.

Does this help?
