Sickle Bar - Cub-22 mower
The stud on the flywheel where the pitman attaches is in pretty rough shape. I'll have to break off the nut to remove the pitman. Has anyone had to replace that stud? Seems that it might just be pressed in place but not positive.

The stud is pressed in but is also peened over on the back side. You will have to do a little grinding and the the stud can be driven or pessed out. I would try cutting the nut off first to try saving the nut. Also I believe the nut is left hand thread also. are you trying to back off the nut in the right direction?

Good idea and thanks for the info. Never thought about it being left hand. Its in pretty rough shape. The nut spins on its own but seem to be rounded over and not easy to remove. That will be my winter project. I noticed that I"m missing the stay rod also and it looks like one hasn't been used on this much. How important is it?
