If you all remember I was having trouble getting my PTO to engage correctly.
I repaired it by building up the flat spots worn on the shifter pin.
The thing that still cocerned me was the 1/4" of in-out play in the trans/shaft.
When I overhauled the engine a month or so ago, while I had it apart I replace the front shaft bearing/seal, and retainer.
I really thought that I had replace this combination on to the shaft the same way they had came off.
Well, I split the tractor this morning and sure enough it was installed backwards.
You know what they say, either do it right or you get to do it again!!
All in all, doing a rear split wasn't as bad as I had thought.
Not that I would want to do it again just for the fun of it!!

sumptin' i read on this board made me TRIPLE check mine when i replaced the shaft. oh, and Tom from TM...mentioning it..or i'd probably have done it wrong too. sure does come apart quick the SECOND time
