Howdy to All,
Well, I've had ol' Ray back together and running fine for several weeks now after replacing the plugs (D 21's), plug wires and cap. I have not replaced the points as they look good and are gapped correctly.
Though running smoothly I just started using him to drag debris left over from the hurricane today. And when under a heavy load he was really missing and blowing black smoke out the exhaust.
What do yall think my problem is?
Thanks a bunch

Ignition problem. Weak spark, fouled/fouling plugs, condensor or coil breaking down.
I would replace the points and condensor. Check the plugs again. If that doesn't solve the problem, then swap out the coil.
Check the easy stuff first.
