mower pulleys

Postby brichter » Fri Nov 12, 2004 11:04 am

I have broken one of the pulleys on the back of my mower. The ones which change the direction of the belt and guide it toward the mower blade pulley. I am having a problem finding them. Could someone give me a clue as to a good source for drive belt pulleys for the cub. Thanks

Those idler pulleys are pretty generic. You should be able to find them about anywhere. Ii don't think there is much difference between Woods and IH pulleys so take the old one to any dealer who sells Wood's mowers and they should be able to match it up. A slight difference in diameter will not make any difference as long as the pulley width is correct.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Mine was riveted together so I took it apart and got the bearing number and ordered 2 new one's on line and got rivets from McMaster-Carr on line also. Work fine the last 2 summers. Much cheaper too!

I have done the samething, except rather than using rivets I used stove boltas with nuts then headed them like a rivet.

But you risk getting a citation from the correct Police. I don't go near them.

Correct police only seem to be concerned with Farmalls, not Motts.
