Cub model numbers.

I've seen some people use what seems to be a model number for their Cub(s).

Can you give me a quick run down of what they mean?

Hey Dan,

Most of us have so many cubs, we either name them or refer to them by their respective year model. I believe Donny M. has two 1949 cubs and refers to them as 49a and 49b.

The newer cubs were numbered 154, 184, and 184. They are the in-frame models meaning, the motors sit inside a frame.

In addition, there were 2 basic models. The standard cub or F-cub and the lo-boy which came along a little later (1955). They went from being Farmall Cubs to International cubs. But they were the same basic 2 versions of the cub. The number series cubs that Cub Bud refers to were the last of the line and differed greatly from the older models in that they had a frame, the early ones used a starter / generator rather than a standard starter and had a different clutch arrangement.

Bud,

You were close...The first 49 I started working on is 49-1 untill I can find a suitable name. The second 49 has the name of Roland as he is headless.
My 55 was named by my youngest daughter, Tinker is what she came up with as I'm was always tinkering on it
