Battery to starter cable

Postby indy61 » Fri Mar 18, 2011 4:49 pm

I replaced my battery to starter cable yesterday because my battery cable terminal was junk and there was not enough cable to replace it properly.
I wanted very high quality cable and ends and found a business that deals with marine applications.
They will custom make your cable using the best components and they charge $1.00 per end for labor and free shipping.
The cable arrived 3 days after I ordered it online.
It is a little thicker then the original but is very flexible, I had no problem routing it like the original using the factory cable clamps.
I noticed a huge difference in cranking and thought it was a great improvement.
It cost about $36.00 total.
The web site is - http://shop.genuinedealz.com/Marine%20Grade%20Wire/
I went with a red cable because my original cable was painted red from the factory. They also have it in black, yellow or white. This is what I ordered.

What gauge wire did you buy? My total for 7' 1/0 with ends was $55.

Thanks,
Gary

Thanks for sharing. I'll be needing to replace mine when this thing gives up the fight.
