Finally got it together (well, almost . . . )

Postby Paul_NJ » Thu Jan 13, 2005 9:41 pm

This is a test case, my first attempt to post a photo.

Ran out of warm enough weather, up here in New Jersey, to finish painting the hood. But it runs again (after 2 years in my garage in pieces)

I'm still looking for how to do that. Do you have fotki BigDog? I'm just using the evaluation free membership right now - wanted to try it out first . . .

All your pics look great, Paul. I see everybody has an electrolisis tank but me(pic number 6). Was that a new head or did you have it in your tank?

Thanks for the help guys - I couldn't figure out how to get the photo to appear on the post

No, the head is original and didn't go into the tank - actually I only wire brushed the engine, cleaned it up real well with thinner, and then primed with etch primer. Everything else went into the electrolysis tank.

Paul,

Not only are your pictures and project, AWESOME!

They are , and will be very inspiring to those who are even remotely thinking about tackling such a job, you make it look easy.

Thanks for sharing your progress.

Thanks for the kind comments.

But no exageration - it was the help and expertise contributed by all of the members of this site that has gotten me this far on my first project. It's truly been a "community effort" thanks to you guys. I never could have done this on my own, and half the fun of the project was being a part of this site.

Still to go:

1. paint hood/tank
2. have grill made by Bruce Sanford
3. rewire
4. adjust carb float
5. figure out why Touch Control is so rough operating

Hope it doesn't take another 2 years to do the rest!

Hi Art

Thanks for the offer. Bruce had asked me to make templates for the top and bottom curves of the grill from my hood and radiator lower castings so that he could match everything, so I think I'll wait and do that. And, considering how long it takes me to do everything else, it's not exactly holding me up. But I do appreciate your suggestion.
