Starter I.D.

Postby 9mules » Sat Jan 29, 2005 2:25 pm

My starter is not the typcial Cub starter, it has a 3-wire starter solenoid bolted ontop, not the push rod model.

Does anyone know what model/make like this setup that Cub used?
Could it have come from and A/H model Farmall?

I'm pulling it and sending to the shop for a checkup and I'd like to know something about it before dealing with the shop guys.
Thanks

Bill,
Its on a 1948 Cub.
I've a spring loaded push button mounted on the dash. Its wired to the ammeter and center terminal on solenoid.
Starter is dragging, so I'm sending it to the shop for a check up and/or get an original starter.
Just need information to make a decision.
Thanks again.

Both starter and generator came without tags!

I don't have a key...just the push button and run/kill switch.

Got the generator repaired, runs like a champ.

Some of the fun I'm having is figuring out the repair/modifications from previous owners!

The starter is the last riddle, would be interesting to know more about it. Could have came off a lo-boy? Larger farmall tractor? Who knows? We'll git it!
Thanks folks.
