Lo-boy final drives

Postby Ralph » Sun Jan 30, 2005 7:49 pm

Does anyone know whether there is any difference in the final drives on the regular cub loboy versus the 154 loboy?
I have a regular lo-boy in the shop and I have a set of 154 final drives setting on the floor comparing the two the only differance is that the right final has the short axle. the bolt and alignment Pins look to be the same on both and the brake rod cutouts and drum appear to be the same.
It looks as though if you put the long axle in the right it would be the same
The casting numbers are different

Thanks Y'All

I am not familiar with the details of the numbered Lo-Boys. The books show an R51 part number for the numbered models and R31 for the offsets.

I wonder if they simply failed to update the book for the offsets (published after the R51 was listed for numbered models). A higher R number should backfit to a lower number (or the part number should have been changed).
