It does not get raked off. Old cut grass does make the mowing more difficult. USUALLY, it isn't much of a problem the next year. If I have to go in again the same year it is more of a problem. A sharp knife and low gear usually handles it. It occasionally has been cut with a rotary. One would think that would help, but as ragged as that guy leaves it, sometimes I am not convinced.

Jim - I read your post on sickle speeds. You really should get a hobby you know, you appear to have way too much time on your hands. I did find the comparison of horse v/s tractor to be interesting, thanks. Vern
