I do not know if I am reading this right. But it seems the oil comes in the pickup tube to the pump. To the main oil galleys mains rods etc. A by pass line goes to the oil fiter and the oil goes out and back into the oil pan Oil does not go through the filter then into the mains Am I reading this right I am going to epoxy a magnet to the drain plug when I get that far.
Rudi once agin GREAT JOB ON YOUR WEB SITE THANK YOU

Thanks for the kind words. However, ifn it wasn't for the generosity of many of our Cub friends here on the forum, I wouldn't have access to a lot of those manuals that are on the server. Also, gotta thank my serverguru for supplying the server space. That ain't cheap And it is a lot of work to keep it up and running too.

Yes, it is a bypass filter. Back then it was commonplace.

Thanks Jim
Since they have held up so well it must work but it is kinda scary to think that anything that goes threw the pickup screen is as likly to end up in the bearing as the oil filter. No wonder one set of bearings looked good and the next were gouged.
