You came home before I got a chance to get the other half. Unfortunately partial ones don't bring much on Ebay.

Donny: If you look carefully at the gas tank above and slightly to the left of the hole, you will see the image of a person sighting along a pistol. My theory is that he shot a half-bullet at your tractor. Dan

Though trillions and trillions of eyes have been watching the skies for as long as human memory exists, no gods nor angels have been seen or documented outside of religion. The number of spaceships being sighted however has become much more prevalent.

Donny, you're a pessimist! An optimist would say they found half a hole.

Should have posted in the "Missing Half Forum"

Seriously, I was wondering why the dash didn't get the "other" half?
One of my dashes has the cut-out this one doesn't. I didn't notice until I had it all together. May be the dash is touch control specific :?: 8)

Donny, that Cub is a '55 like mine, isn't it? I just checked mine, and not only don't I have the holes for oiling the generator, but I don't even have the half hole. Since you have a half hole, I guess that shoots holes in my hole theory that '55s got no holes!
That is one good looking paint job. :D

Hole missing

Postby CaptPaulret » Fri Feb 25, 2005 10:10 am

The way the E-bay market has been going I wouldn't be suprised if'n someone hasn't come up with a way to sell holes 1/2 at a time. Wouldn't suprise me the way they are parting out cubs for sale. If'n this is working they will double their money.

Vern,

That's a picture of my 49 not the 55. The 55 doesn't have the half in the hood and the dash ears are shorter.
The paint job did turn out good. You should see it with out the saw dust   8)

Donny,
I may have found the other half of your missing hole. Look in my post "Don't you just love Red" my tank/hood has a half hole only it dosen't show once you put it on the tractor' the instrument panel covers it.
Vern pointed this out in his reply!

Kodiak,

The half hole on your tank is there for the choke rod clearance. If you notice it is below the tank/dash seam. All 3 of my tanks have those too.

I'm going out in the shop to find the other half hole :!:  8)
