I know lots of you folks have great shop set ups. I've seen some of the pix like Bill Hudson's Cub House. What I would love to see is some pictures of that place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of life and wind down with your tools and favorite tractor(s). So guys and girls post some pictures of your shop and share them with us all! :big afro:

Here is my Cub home back in Florida. No enclosed shop yet, but it keep everything under shelter. This is an old photo, there is much less room to walk under there now!!

Yeah, my buddy Raymond is the envy of the Southern guys, for sure.

Below are a couple of pictures of my barn. This is the home of Deep South CubFest.

Another shot from the front, taken during DSCF 2010.

Both of these shots show the "porch" on the barn. We use this for our dining area during the cubfest. I spend a large amount of quality time here during the rest of the year. I have even been caught catching a few naps in one of the wooden rocking chairs. :{_}: :{_}:

Raymond has a distinct advantage over most of us. Except for when the occasional hurricane comes along, literally all he needs is a roof over his head.

This is what mine looked like in March of last year.

That right there is a magic shed of sorts. When I visited Mr. Becker, I got to take a tour of it with him... some really neat stuff in there... cub and non-cub... Tractor and non-tractor.

While the Big Ol' Barn is used for storing things, the smaller barn makes for an excellent hide-a-way.

The first order of business was hauling 4 loads of manure out of the building.
Image

Then we got the dirt floor level.
Image

The concrete pour went well.
Image

Then it was time to frame the inside walls.
Image

One of the new interior walls with paint and electric.
Image

The old siding looked like an old barn so it had to go.
Image

The new siding will look like this when completed.
Image

The old sliding door track and rollers were getting pretty worn, as was the wood, so they had to go.
Image

The new rollup doors will work better to keep the weather out.
Image

This whole project is a work in progress. Hopefully it will be complete by the end of next summer.

Thanks, I'm going to take some of the beams and decking seen in the pic (and heavy joists and columns not in the pic) to build a second floor in the 'square' over the cubs and close it in. That will give me a 48x30 enclosed shop with the same size enclosed storage over head, with a total building footprint of 96x80. I've got most of the materials on hand, just got to find the time!!

WOW! You guys have some nice space to work in, real nice!

Here's a few pics of my small...very small shop and shed. My "shop" is 14x20, I've restored all my tractors in here, including the '59 430W John Deere and the '51 Farmall M. It's a tight fit! I pulled both big tractors in and turned them on one wheel long ways...

These two pics show the "M", one taken when I pulled it in the shop to begin restoration, and one taken on it first trip out after restoration...

The shed started out as a small wood shed, but ended up about 24x10. I usually keep my JD garden tractors in there during the summer. Right now the Cub is in there, along with one Deere. I've got a large tarp over the opening in the winter time. It has a gravel floor, receptacles and lights.

I have posted this before, but my wife and I hope to build a house soon. I am enjoying this topic. I am hoping there'll be enough $$ for a shop too. My original wish for a tobacco warehouse probably isn't realistic but I hope to afford one large enough that I can get all my "junk" under one roof where I can work on it with some degree of convenience and comfort!

Mike,
I have heard some stories about Mr. Becker's magic barn. Look forward to visiting with him at some future date. :{_}: :{_}:

Speaking of magic, you got caught sharing some good ole Southern levity in the picture below.

Looks like ole B-Ray had everyone in stitches, as usual. Fun visit. Thanks for dropping by the DSCF man-cave.

Great post. Here's a photo of my frigid ol' 1830s barn in winter and one in spring when our farm stand is open and selling organic veggies.
